Availability & Time Blocks
Setting Provider Schedules
Time blocks define when each provider is available for appointments. The booking engine uses these blocks to calculate available slots.
Weekly Schedule
Each provider has a weekly schedule with time blocks per day:
- Add blocks for each working day (e.g., Monday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Add multiple blocks per day for breaks (e.g., 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
- Days without blocks are treated as days off
How Slots Are Calculated
The booking engine divides time blocks into 15-minute intervals, then removes:
- Slots that overlap with existing bookings
- Slots during blocked times (vacations, recurring blocks)
- Slots outside appointment type time restrictions (if set)
- Slots within the provider’s minimum advance hours window
Recommended Slots
To help reduce scheduling gaps, the system highlights “recommended” slots. These are time slots adjacent to existing appointments, which helps keep the schedule compact rather than scattered.
Tip: If a provider works different hours on different days, create separate blocks for each day. For example, Monday 8am-4pm and Tuesday 9am-6pm.
