Time Restrictions

Restricting When Types Can Be Booked

Time restrictions let you limit appointment types to specific days and hours. For example, you might only offer cleanings Monday through Thursday in the morning.

How It Works

Each restriction is a day-of-week and time window combination. You can add multiple restrictions per type:

  • Monday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM — cleanings available Monday mornings only
  • Tuesday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM — also available Tuesday mornings
  • Wednesday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM — and Wednesday afternoons

When restrictions are set, the booking engine only shows slots that fall within these windows, even if the provider has broader availability.

Clinic-Wide vs Per-Provider

  • Clinic-wide restrictions apply to all providers by default
  • Per-provider overrides let specific providers have different windows for the same type

For example, a clinic-wide restriction might say cleanings are 8am-12pm, but Dr. Smith’s override could allow cleanings 8am-3pm.

Setting Up

  1. Go to Settings and find the appointment type card
  2. Expand the Time Restrictions section
  3. Add day/time combinations
  4. For per-provider overrides, switch to the provider tab and set different windows

Tip: If a type has no restrictions, it’s available during all provider availability hours. Only add restrictions when you need to narrow the window.
