Appointment Types & Modes

What Are Appointment Types?

Appointment types define the services your clinic offers. Each type has a label, duration, and mode that patients see when booking.

Creating Types

Go to Settings and scroll to Appointment Types:

  • Label — descriptive name (e.g., “New Patient Exam”, “Follow-up Visit”, “Cleaning”)
  • Slug — auto-generated URL identifier, used in booking URLs
  • Duration — appointment length in minutes (determines how many slots fit in a day)
  • Mode — how the appointment is conducted:
    • In-person (teal badge) — patient visits the clinic
    • Phone (yellow badge) — provider calls the patient
    • Video (purple badge) — Zoom meeting, link auto-generated if Zoom is connected

Enabling and Disabling

Use the toggle to enable or disable types. Disabled types don’t appear on the booking page but are preserved for historical appointment records.

Provider Assignment

By default, all providers offer all appointment types. To restrict which providers offer a type, go to the provider’s settings and use the Appointment Types section to select specific types.

Tip: Keep type names patient-friendly. “Comprehensive Oral Evaluation” might be accurate, but “New Patient Exam” is clearer for someone booking online.
